Moses gives speeches about laws and the importance of following God before the Israelites enter the Promised Land.

Chapter 31

KJV - Deuteronomy 31:18

And I will surely hide my face in that day for all the evils which they shall have wrought, in that they are turned unto other gods.

On that day, I will hide my presence because of all the bad things they did. This happened because they chose to follow other gods.
