Moses gives speeches about laws and the importance of following God before the Israelites enter the Promised Land.

Chapter 29

KJV - Deuteronomy 29:13

That he may establish thee to day for a people unto himself, and that he may be unto thee a God, as he hath said unto thee, and as he hath sworn unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob.

So he can make you his special people today, and be your God just like he promised, the same way he promised it to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, your ancestors.
