Moses gives speeches about laws and the importance of following God before the Israelites enter the Promised Land.

Chapter 18

KJV - Deuteronomy 18:14

For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the LORD thy God hath not suffered thee so to do.

For the countries you will take control of, people listened to those who predicted future events and consulted with spiritual advisors. But, the Lord your God didn't want you to do that.
