KJV: And the apostles and brethren that were in Judaea heard that the Gentiles had also received the word of God.

Geneva: Nowe the Apostles and the brethren that were in Iudea, heard, that the Gentiles had also receiued the worde of God.

KJV: And when Peter was come up to Jerusalem, they that were of the circumcision contended with him,

Geneva: And when Peter was come vp to Hierusalem, they of the circumcision contended against him,

KJV: Saying, Thou wentest in to men uncircumcised, and didst eat with them.

Geneva: Saying, Thou wentest in to men vncircumcised, and hast eaten with them.

KJV: But Peter rehearsed the matter from the beginning, and expounded it by order unto them, saying,

Geneva: Then Peter beganne, and expounded the thing in order to them, saying,

KJV: I was in the city of Joppa praying: and in a trance I saw a vision, A certain vessel descend, as it had been a great sheet, let down from heaven by four corners; and it came even to me:

Geneva: I was in the citie of Ioppa, praying, and in a trance I sawe this vision, A certaine vessell comming downe as it had bene a great sheete, let downe from heauen by the foure corners, and it came to me.

KJV: Upon the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and saw fourfooted beasts of the earth, and wild beasts, and creeping things, and fowls of the air.

Geneva: Towarde the which when I had fastened mine eyes, I considered, and sawe foure footed beastes of the earth, and wilde beastes, and creeping things, and foules of the heauen.

KJV: And I heard a voice saying unto me, Arise, Peter; slay and eat.

Geneva: Also I heard a voyce, saying vnto me, Arise, Peter: slay and eate.

KJV: But I said, Not so, Lord: for nothing common or unclean hath at any time entered into my mouth.

Geneva: And I said, God forbid, Lord: for nothing polluted or vncleane hath at any time entred into my mouth.

KJV: But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.

Geneva: But the voyce answered me the seconde time from heauen, The things that God hath purified, pollute thou not.

KJV: And this was done three times: and all were drawn up again into heaven.

Geneva: And this was done three times, and all were taken vp againe into heauen.

KJV: And, behold, immediately there were three men already come unto the house where I was, sent from Caesarea unto me.

Geneva: Then behold, immediatly there were three men already come vnto the house where I was, sent from Cesarea vnto me.

KJV: And the Spirit bade me go with them, nothing doubting. Moreover these six brethren accompanied me, and we entered into the man’s house:

Geneva: And the Spirit saide vnto me, that I should go with them, without doubting: moreouer these sixe brethren came with me, and we entred into the mans house.

KJV: And he shewed us how he had seen an angel in his house, which stood and said unto him, Send men to Joppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter;

Geneva: And he shewed vs, howe he had seene an Angel in his house, which stoode and said to him, Send men to Ioppa, and call for Simon, whose surname is Peter.

KJV: Who shall tell thee words, whereby thou and all thy house shall be saved.

Geneva: He shall speake wordes vnto thee, whereby both thou and all thine house shalbe saued.

KJV: And as I began to speak, the Holy Ghost fell on them, as on us at the beginning.

Geneva: And as I began to speake, the holy Ghost fell on them, euen as vpon vs at the beginning.

KJV: Then remembered I the word of the Lord, how that he said, John indeed baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost.

Geneva: Then I remembred the word of the Lord, howe he said, Iohn baptized with water, but ye shalbe baptized with the holy Ghost.

KJV: Forasmuch then as God gave them the like gift as he did unto us, who believed on the Lord Jesus Christ; what was I, that I could withstand God?

Geneva: For as much then as God gaue them a like gift, as he did vnto vs, when we beleeued in the Lorde Iesus Christ, who was I, that I coulde let God?

KJV: When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.

Geneva: When they heard these things, they helde their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles graunted repentance vnto life.

KJV: Now they which were scattered abroad upon the persecution that arose about Stephen travelled as far as Phenice, and Cyprus, and Antioch, preaching the word to none but unto the Jews only.

Geneva: And they which were scattered abroade because of the affliction that arose about Steuen, went throughout till they came vnto Phenice and Cyprus, and Antiochia, preaching the worde to no man, but vnto the Iewes onely.

KJV: And some of them were men of Cyprus and Cyrene, which, when they were come to Antioch, spake unto the Grecians, preaching the LORD Jesus.

Geneva: Now some of them were men of Cyprus and of Cyrene, which when they were come into Antiochia, spake vnto the Grecians, and preached the Lord Iesus.

KJV: And the hand of the Lord was with them: and a great number believed, and turned unto the Lord.

Geneva: And the hand of the Lord was with them, so that a great number beleeued and turned vnto the Lord.

KJV: Then tidings of these things came unto the ears of the church which was in Jerusalem: and they sent forth Barnabas, that he should go as far as Antioch.

Geneva: Then tydings of those things came vnto the eares of the Church, which was in Hierusalem, and they sent foorth Barnabas, that he should goe vnto Antiochia.

KJV: Who, when he came, and had seen the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted them all, that with purpose of heart they would cleave unto the Lord.

Geneva: Who when he was come and had seene the grace of God, was glad, and exhorted all, that with purpose of heart they would continue in the Lord.

KJV: For he was a good man, and full of the Holy Ghost and of faith: and much people was added unto the Lord.

Geneva: For he was a good man, and full of the holy Ghost, and faith, and much people ioyned them selues vnto the Lord.

KJV: Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:

KJV: And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.

Geneva: And when he had founde him, he brought him vnto Antiochia: and it came to passe that a whole yere they were conuersant with ye Church, and taught much people, in so much that the disciples were first called Christians in Antiochia.

KJV: And in these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.

Geneva: In those dayes also came Prophets from Hierusalem vnto Antiochia.

KJV: And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.

Geneva: And there stoode vp one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit, that there should be great famine throughout all the world, which also came to passe vnder Claudius Cesar.

KJV: Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:

Geneva: Then the disciples, euery man according to his habilitie, purposed to sende succour vnto the brethren which dwelt in Iudea.

KJV: Which also they did, and sent it to the elders by the hands of Barnabas and Saul.

Geneva: Which thing they also did, and sent it to the Elders, by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
