1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

*I encourage you to first pray for everyone - this means asking for their needs, showing concern through prayer, and expressing gratitude.

2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

*For rulers and those in power, so we can live quietly and peacefully in a good and honest way.

3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

*This is pleasing to God, our rescuer.

4 Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

*Who wants all people to be saved and to understand the truth.

5 For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

*There is only one God, and one person who connects God and people, that's Jesus, a human being.

6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

*Who sacrificed himself to free everyone, to be proven true at the right time.

7 Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.

*I am appointed to be a preacher and an apostle, speaking truly in Christ with no lies. I teach non-Jewish people about faith and truth.

8 I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

*I want people to pray everywhere, with lifted-up hands, not being angry or doubtful.

9 In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

*Similarly, women should dress modestly and simply, avoiding drawing attention with fancy hairstyles, gold, pearls, or expensive clothes.

10 But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.

*But (who are religious women) should do good deeds.

11 Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.

*"Let a woman quietly listen and obey while learning."

12 But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

*But I don't allow women to teach or take control over men; instead, they should stay quiet.

13 For Adam was first formed, then Eve.

*Adam was made first, followed by Eve.

14 And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.

*Adam didn't fall for the trick, but the woman, who was fooled, was the one who broke the rule.

15 Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

*Despite everything, she will be saved during childbirth if they keep having faith, love, and holiness while being sober.
