1 Samuel

Tells about Samuel, the last judge, and the beginning of Israel's monarchy with King Saul and young David.

Chapter 30

KJV - 1 Samuel 30:22

Then answered all the wicked men and men of Belial, of those that went with David, and said, Because they went not with us, we will not give them ought of the spoil that we have recovered, save to every man his wife and his children, that they may lead them away, and depart.

Then all the bad men who were with David spoke up and said, "We won't give any of the things we took back as loot to those who didn't come with us, except for each man's wife and children. We will let them take their families so they can leave with them and go away."
