1 Samuel

Tells about Samuel, the last judge, and the beginning of Israel's monarchy with King Saul and young David.

Chapter 28

KJV - 1 Samuel 28:15

And Samuel said to Saul, Why hast thou disquieted me, to bring me up? And Saul answered, I am sore distressed; for the Philistines make war against me, and God is departed from me, and answereth me no more, neither by prophets, nor by dreams: therefore I have called thee, that thou mayest make known unto me what I shall do.

And Samuel asked Saul, "Why did you bother me by bringing me here? Why don't you tell me?" And Saul replied, "I am in big trouble because the Philistines are fighting against me. God isn't helping me anymore - not through prophets or dreams. That's why I called you to find out what I should do."
