Tells about Samuel, the last judge, and the beginning of Israel's monarchy with King Saul and young David.

Chapter 20

KJV - 1 Samuel 20:25

And the king sat upon his seat, as at other times, even upon a seat by the wall: and Jonathan arose, and Abner sat by Saul’s side, and David’s place was empty.

The king sat on his throne like usual, near the wall. Jonathan stood up, and Abner sat next to the king. David's spot was empty.
