1 Peter 2:24
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Simple English
He took upon himself our wrongdoings and suffered for them on a cross. This way, we die to sin and live for what is right, and it's through his wounds that we are healed.
