Assures believers of eternal life through faith in Jesus and commands love for God and one another.

Chapter 5

KJV - 1 John 5:20

And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.

We understand that the true Son of God has come and taught us how to know the real him. We are connected to the real one through his son, Jesus Christ. This is the real God and everlasting life.
